Helping Animals and People in Need

Animals are some of the most enslaved, abused, exploited and commodified individuals in the world. I believe in the importance of lending our voices and efforts to those less privileged, so I dedicate my time and financial resources to various animal sanctuaries and rescue operations. Your support of my business helps immensely.

For three and a half  years, Wilbur was kept in a tiny cage in an unheated laneway garage with walls that did not even meet the ceiling, exposing him to the elements. He had no litter box, his white fur was stained yellow from urine, he was deprived of human companionship, and was in very poor health with matted fur, needing multiple teeth extracted and treatment for painful abscesses, He had thyroid cancer which had spread throughout his entire body. None of these conditions were diagnosed until he was rescued, as he was denied veterinary care. Unfortunately, he only lived 6 months after his rescue, but he was shown a lot of love and had endless massages.  Thanks to the animal rights community within BC, $4000 was raised for his care. Wilbur will forever be remembered for his loud purr which could heard from across the room, sprawling out in a sunbeam, waking me up with the sound of his ping pong ball ricocheting off the walls at night, and his incessant need to be cuddled and loved and trying to sleep on my head. I’ve never felt so loved by any animal. Wilbur’s story is a reminder to take action when we learn about abuse and neglect, and not trust the authorities to take appropriate action. Wilbur could have been rescued years earlier if this had been done and possibly been cured from his cancer. We commonly hear “someone should do something about that” My response is “that someone is me”.
